Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 4, 2026
This policy explains what information we collect when you use Webbu, why we collect it, and what we do with it. Plain English, no dark patterns.
Who we are
Webbu is an AI editing tool that connects to the sites web agencies build for clients. This policy covers webbu.ai and the Webbu product. If anything below conflicts with what we tell you in an order form or signed agreement, the signed agreement wins.
What we collect
- Early-access signup: when you join the early-access list, your name, email, website URL, and whether you're a store owner or an agency. That's it, the form doesn't ask for anything else.
- Client site data: when an agency connects a client site, Webbu reads the site's content, brand system (fonts, colors, components), and structure so it can edit it.
- Edits and prompts: the natural-language instructions clients send to change their sites, and the resulting changes.
- Product usage: pages you visit, features you use, approximate location (derived from IP), browser and device basics.
- Signup-page metadata: when you visit or submit the signup form, we record your IP address, user-agent string, and referring page. We use this for abuse prevention, basic funnel analytics (for example, how many people land on the page but don't finish), and debugging. It's kept with the signup record.
- Support and feedback: anything you email us or post in our community channels.
What we don't collect
- Payment card numbers. Stripe handles those, we never see them.
- Site visitor analytics on your clients' sites.
- Anything we don't need to run the product.
Why we collect it
- To run the service you signed up for.
- To improve Webbu, including debugging, prioritising features, and fixing bugs.
- To contact you about your account and important product changes.
- To prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.
Who we share it with
A small number of service providers help us run Webbu, like hosting and analytics (Cloudflare, Plausible), email delivery, and customer-support tools. They only see what they need to do their job and are bound by their own privacy commitments. We never sell your data. We may share information if compelled by law, but we'll tell you if we can.
Where we store it
Data is processed and stored on infrastructure provided by Cloudflare and similar reputable providers, with appropriate access controls. We retain account data for as long as you have an active account, and for a reasonable period after deletion in case you come back or for legal / accounting reasons.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what data we hold on you, correct it, export it, or delete it. Get in touch through the signup form on webbu.ai and we'll handle it within 30 days. If you're in the EU/UK, you have rights under GDPR; California residents have rights under CCPA. Same answer either way. Reach out and we'll do it.
Cookies & analytics
webbu.ai is effectively cookieless. We use Plausible, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool, to measure aggregate traffic, no personal data, no cross-site tracking, and no consent banner required. We store a couple of small preferences (like your light or dark theme) in your browser's local storage, not in cookies. We don't run third-party advertising cookies. The Webbu product itself may use a session cookie to keep you signed in once you have an account.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change. If the change is material, we'll email account holders so you know in advance.
