Terms of Service
Last updated: May 14, 2026
These are the ground rules for using Webbu. Plain English, no dark patterns.
What Webbu is
Webbu is an AI website editor. It connects to a GitHub repo you control, reads the code, and lets you (or people you invite) change copy, images, and sections by typing what you want in plain English. Every edit ships as a git commit, so it's versioned and reversible.
Webbu is used by two kinds of customers: website owners who want to edit their own site without writing code, and agencies who want their clients to do the same on sites the agency built. These terms apply to both.
Early-access status
Webbu is in early access. Some features are stable, others are new and moving fast. We may add, change, or remove features as we learn what works. If a change materially reduces what you signed up for, tell us and we'll work it out.
Service availability
Features may change as the product evolves. We'll flag material removals or breaking changes in advance when we can. We'll do our best to keep the service stable, but we make no uptime guarantees. We may pause your access if your usage is breaking the service or these terms.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. Don't share your login. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has accessed it.
GitHub access and AI edits
Webbu works by connecting to a GitHub repo you own or are authorized to edit. You give us permission to read that repo and write commits to the branches you select. A few things to know:
- You're responsible for choosing which repos and branches Webbu can touch. We commit to what you point us at.
- AI edits are best-effort. Webbu can misread intent, generate code that doesn't behave the way you expected, or introduce bugs. Treat every commit like any other commit. Review it, test it, roll it back if it's wrong.
- Every edit ships as a git commit, so it's versioned and reversible. Rolling back is your responsibility and your remedy if something we shipped breaks the site.
- You can revoke Webbu's GitHub access at any time from your GitHub settings. If you revoke access mid-edit, in-flight commits may fail or land partially, so re-check the repo state before continuing.
- Don't point Webbu at repos containing secrets, credentials, or third-party code you don't have permission to modify.
Who owns AI-generated edits
You own the commits Webbu writes into your repo, the same way you own every other commit in there. We don't claim any rights to the code, copy, or images Webbu generates for your site.
Two caveats. First, AI models generate similar outputs for similar prompts, so we can't promise that what Webbu writes for you is unique. Second, you're responsible for making sure what you ship doesn't infringe someone else's rights (a copied tagline, a stock image used outside its license, etc.).
Acceptable use
Don't use Webbu to:
- Build or edit sites that are illegal, defamatory, infringing, or designed to defraud.
- Reverse-engineer the product or attempt to extract our model weights, prompts, or training data.
- Resell access to Webbu without a written agreement with us.
- Send abusive volumes of requests, run security tests without permission, or otherwise mess with the service.
Your content
You own your sites and the content on them. By using Webbu, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display that content strictly as needed to operate the service. We don't use your content to train shared AI models without your explicit permission.
Our content
The Webbu product, brand, and underlying software belong to us. You don't get any rights to those except the limited right to use the service while your account is active.
Third parties we rely on
Webbu runs on Cloudflare and uses GitHub, Stripe, and AI providers (currently large-language-model APIs from Anthropic and OpenAI) to do its job. When you use Webbu, you're also agreeing to their terms for the parts of the service they power. The current list lives in our privacy policy.
Payments
Webbu pricing is set per customer based on your sites and the number of connected repos. The number on your order form or in-app billing page is the price that applies to you. Paid plans are billed in advance (monthly or annually) and processed by Stripe, so we never see your card details.
Refunds are handled case by case. If something is genuinely broken on our side, email us and we'll make it right. We give 30 days' notice before any price increase on your plan.
Cancelling
You can cancel any time from your account settings (or through the contact form on webbu.ai if you're locked out). We'll stop billing at the end of the current period.
On cancellation, we revoke our own GitHub access to your repos. Your code stays where it is, in your repo, with all the commits Webbu made still in place. You can also revoke access from your GitHub settings at any time without cancelling your account.
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where we reasonably can.
Getting your data out
Your site code already lives in your GitHub repo, so we don't hold it hostage. On cancellation, we keep your Webbu account data (edit history, settings, team members) available for export for 30 days. After that we delete it. Get in touch through the contact form on webbu.ai if you need a copy.
If your website breaks
Webbu commits changes to your GitHub repo. We do our best to make those edits clean and we provide versioning and one-click rollback so any change is reversible. But:
- We are not responsible if your website breaks as a result of edits made through Webbu, whether by you, your team, your clients, or our AI.
- We are not responsible for downtime, broken deploys, data loss, regression in SEO/analytics, customer complaints, lost revenue, or any other business consequence that follows from an edit shipped through Webbu.
- Your git history is the safety net. Keep it. If something breaks, roll the change back. We give you the tools to do that; the responsibility for what ships is yours.
- You own your repo, your deploy pipeline, and your hosting. We do not own, manage, or guarantee any of those.
Warranties and limits
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law lets us, we disclaim implied warranties and limit our total liability to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or, during the free or early-access plan, to USD 100).
In particular, we don't warrant that AI-generated edits will be correct, brand-appropriate, free of bugs, or fit any particular purpose. Webbu is a tool that suggests and ships changes. You stay responsible for what goes live.
Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims brought by anyone else that arise out of (a) content you put on a site Webbu edits, (b) repos you connected without permission, or (c) your use of Webbu in a way that breaks these terms or the law. We'll let you run the defense and won't settle in a way that puts obligations on you without your okay.
Copyright complaints
If you think something Webbu helped a customer publish infringes your copyright, reach out through the contact form on webbu.ai with (a) what was infringed, (b) where it lives, (c) your contact details, and (d) a statement that you're authorized to make the claim. We act on valid notices and tell the affected customer.
Things outside our control
Webbu depends on third parties like GitHub, Cloudflare, our AI providers, and the open internet. If one of them has an outage, gets attacked, or changes their terms in a way that breaks part of Webbu, we'll do what we can to work around it but we're not liable for the downtime itself.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Webbu is incorporated. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless we agree otherwise in writing. (We'll name the specific entity and jurisdiction here before the first paid customer signs.)
The fine print
- Entire agreement. These terms plus the privacy policy and any signed order form are the whole deal between you and us. Where they conflict, a signed order form wins. Anything said in a sales call or email doesn't override what's written here.
- Severability. If one part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce something once, that doesn't mean we've given it up.
- Assignment. You can't transfer your account to someone else without our okay. We can transfer these terms if Webbu is acquired or restructured.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Webbu after a change means you accept the new terms.
